1) Purpose & Scope
Your satisfaction matters. This Policy explains when you may receive a refund from YourForms, including our Money‑Back Guarantee if a court rejects your filing solely because of our mistake (incorrect forms or instructions that we provided). This Policy is in addition to any rights you may have under applicable law. WE ARE NOT A LAW FIRM, DO NOT PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE OR REPRESENTATION, AND CANNOT APPLY THE LAW TO YOUR INDIVIDUAL CIRCUMSTANCES. IF YOU NEED PERSONALIZED LEGAL ADVICE, YOU SHOULD CONSULT A LICENSED ATTORNEY IN YOUR STATE.
YourForms is a self‑help online service for uncontested divorce. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.
2) Definitions
- Service: YourForms online, self‑help platform that generates jurisdiction‑specific divorce forms and general filing instructions.
- Court Rejection: An official written notice, order, or letter from the court stating that your submitted filing is rejected.
3) Money‑Back Guarantee (Court Rejection Caused by Our Error)
You are eligible for a full refund of the fees you paid to YourForms for the affected purchase if all of the conditions below are satisfied:
- Unaltered YourForms documents. You filed using the exact forms generated by YourForms for your matter (you may complete fillable fields such as names, dates, and signatures, but you did not otherwise edit, re‑type, or replace our forms).
- Instructions followed. You filed in line with the general instructions provided by YourForms for your jurisdiction.
- Rejection due to our mistake. The court’s written rejection specifically states that the filing failed because of an error in the forms or instructions supplied by YourForms.
- Proof provided. You submit (a) the exact filing packet you tendered to the court and (b) the official court rejection (letter, order, or notice).
How to claim under the Money‑Back Guarantee
Email support@yourforms.com with the subject “Money‑Back Guarantee Request” and include:
- Your full name and the email you used for purchase
- Order ID (if available)
- State/province and county of filing
- A single PDF (or zipped folder) containing (a) your submitted filing packet and (b) the court’s rejection document
We will review your request and notify you by email of the outcome. WE WILL PROVIDE AN INITIAL RESPONSE WITHIN 10 BUSINESS DAYS OF RECEIVING COMPLETE DOCUMENTATION. If approved, your refund will be issued to your original payment method (see Section 6 for refund windows and method).
4) What’s Not Covered by the Money‑Back Guarantee
The Guarantee does not apply to:
- Spouse non‑cooperation (e.g., a spouse refuses to sign, appear, or otherwise participate when required for an uncontested filing).
- Third‑party costs you paid to others (e.g., court/filing fees, e‑filing portal fees, process server fees, mediator or attorney fees, or notary services obtained outside YourForms).
- Issues outside our control, including but not limited to: incorrect or incomplete information you provided; residency/venue eligibility failures; missed deadlines; unpaid or improperly calculated filing fees; court administrative errors; e‑filing portal outages; changes in law or court rules after your purchase; or attempting to use the Service for a contested matter.
- Altered forms or non‑YourForms documents submitted to the court.
- CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES: YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR (A) THE ACCURACY AND COMPLETENESS OF ALL INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE, (B) PAYING ALL COURT AND THIRD-PARTY FEES, (C) MEETING DEADLINES, AND (D) ENSURING THAT YOUR CASE QUALIFIES AS “UNCONTESTED” UNDER YOUR STATE’S LAWS.
5) General Refund Rules (Outside the Guarantee)
Outside the Money‑Back Guarantee, fees paid to YourForms are generally non‑refundable and non‑exchangeable, unless required by applicable law or expressly stated otherwise in this Policy.
If you believe extraordinary circumstances apply, contact support@yourforms.com with details and any supporting documentation. We will review such requests in good faith.
6) Refund Windows & Method (Technical Limits)
- Card payments: We can process refunds within 120 days from the original transaction date.
- PayPal payments: We can process refunds within 180 days from the original transaction date.
- Method: All refunds are issued only to the original payment method used for the purchase.
- After the above time limits, payment processors do not allow us to complete a refund to the original method. Where permitted by law, we cannot process refunds beyond those windows.
7) How We Review Requests
- We may request additional information or documents to validate your claim.
- Submitting incomplete or altered materials may delay or prevent our review.
- If a partial rejection relates to an add‑on only (e.g., a specific document set), we may, at our discretion, issue a partial refund limited to that portion of the purchase.
- Abuse of the Policy (e.g., repeated filings with known defects outside our control) may result in denial of future requests.
- IF YOUR ORIGINAL PAYMENT METHOD IS UNAVAILABLE (E.G., CLOSED ACCOUNT), WE MAY, AT OUR DISCRETION, ISSUE THE REFUND BY CHECK OR AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD WHERE PERMITTED BY LAW.
- CHARGEBACKS AND PAYMENT DISPUTES: IF YOU INITIATE A CHARGEBACK OR PAYMENT DISPUTE THROUGH YOUR BANK OR PAYPAL, YOU MAY NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR A REFUND UNDER THIS POLICY UNTIL THE DISPUTE IS RESOLVED.
8) Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Policy limits any non‑waivable consumer rights you may have under applicable laws in your state, province, or country.
9) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The Effective date above reflects the latest version. If we make a material or substantial change, you could be notified (for example, by email or a prominent notice in your account). Where required by law, we will provide advance notice before the change takes effect.
